Twists & Turns: My work is a constant search for the best way to interpret my ideas of my culture and traditions, into art form.  I do not limit myself to one medium, style or concept.  Inspiration and ideas change, knowledge changes. Each piece I create is simultaneously an extension of the past, of where I’ve been and what I have learned, and as well as a preview of the future, of where I am going .

Some of the concepts can be seen through the combination of textures and surfacing on my metal pieces, frequent intermingle of color in my beading and the assemblage of organic material, just to name a few. I do not classify myself as a craft artist  I believe the materials used, have their own narrative to tell, it is important for me to use a material in a manner that it remains true to this narrative and to see how and what it can lend to the work and tell its story.  I believe in the importance of objects and their power to shift narratives which is why the jewelry vibrates with me so strongly.

I like the idea that form doesn’t necessarily need purpose, but I also like the idea that function has to work with form and form has to work with function.  If a viewer stops for just a moment to view and reflect on a piece I have created, then I have succeeded in my work.
